Edgy, exciting and a bit eclectic, newcomer Will X's new album "Body Electric" is about to send shock waves through dance floors and on radio stations across the country.
The album is set for release March 23.
Produced in Los Angeles, by Robert Eibach, producer of several Billboard- charting and Grammy Award- winning artists, "Body Electric" is a compilation of music created by the artist and inspired by a variety of life events and relationships.
"Robert is great to work with -- he saw my vision and did a great job of bringing it all together. We're definitely on the same frequency," Will X said.
A Midwest boy, Will X was born in Detroit and grew up in Chicago. He currently calls Las Vegas home.
He grew up listening to iconic American musicians Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men and also enjoys the music of Canadian rock band, Nickleback; former American Idol contestant, Chris Daughtry; and, American Southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Picking up the guitar and piano at the age of 14, Will X grew up singing and honing his craft in his church.
But, the sometimes- good boy hasn't had an easy life and his edgy, somewhat- rough outlook and attitude is visible in several of the "Body Electric" lyrics and pulsating pop/dance/rock melodies.
The songs on "Body Electric" are not only fresh and exciting, each has played its own emotional, spiritual or physical demands on the artist.
There's no doubt, the rocking "Body Electric," "Pushing Me Away" and "Like You Dirty" bring a primitive, physical pounding to dance clubs.
But, other songs on the album show the artist's more tender side.
His rock ballad, "If You Only Knew," was written for his girlfriend, who is currently battling cancer.
"Footprints in the Sand" originated from Will X encountering repeatedly at various points in his life the popular inspirational poem of the same name and realizing that no matter where he is in life, and whatever he is going through, he's been carried or walked with – and is never truly alone.
"I wanted to be transparent in this album, and all the songs are about me and who I am," Will X said. "I'm not just one kind of man, I'm made up of a lot of things."
That variety of components, which make up the man and his music, are sure to make "Body Electric" a hit with a wide range of fans and music lovers.
