Have you ever wondered… what’s the first thing people notice about me?
Most people would say it’s their personality, but studies have shown that it is actually a person’s physical appearance that catches the attention. In a survey by Murine of 2000 people, most agreed that upon meeting someone, they first noticed a person's eyes. So why is it that most of us pay little attention to our eye health and have less than “perfect” looking eyes?
There are many habits and environmental factors that can contribute to a person's eye beauty diminishing over time such as computer vision syndrome, ultraviolet sun rays, overuse of sclera (the white outer layer of eyeball) whitening eye drops, rubbing the eyes and lack of sleep, to name a few. These factors add to a variety of problems that affect our eye beauty such as red eyes, yellow eyes, pink eye, red veins in the eye, dry eyes, dull eye color, macular degeneration,...
Sometimes Being Square is Better: Solatube International asks the question “Are you square or round?”
June 16, 2016
Round versus square. Sharp lines versus curves. The human brain processes each of these differently, according to a led by Moshe Bar and Maital Neta. In their study with round and square objects, they found that most people prefer rounded objects and shapes to sharp-angled ones.* Over the past 25 years, Solatube International has been catering to this majority with its round diffusers. But what about those who prefer sharper lines?
Solatube has finally heard their pleas and now has a square diffuser for residential Solatube Daylighting Systems.
“Part of the magic of our products is the fact that we use a round tube, so it was only natural that we used a round fixture at the ceiling,” said Robert Westfall, president of Solatube International. “But we now know there are a substantial number of people that prefer squares so we literally had to figure out how to put a round tube in a square hole to accommodate those preferences.”

June 20, 2016
As you slather on sun block SPF 30, 40 or higher this summer, think about your house. Exposed to the intense rays of the sun day after day, how does your home protect itself from getting sun burned?
"People worry about the harmful effects of the sun on their skin when outside for just a few hours," says James Carey, co-host of , a home improvement radio show and website. This book was recently released in spring of 2016; its title is Donald Trump And Ben Carson Are Right: About Islam And America.
The author states, “the roots of the Orlando shooting actually go all the way back to America’s formative years, and in fact President Thomas Jefferson had to deal with them; which resulted in creating the U.S. Marines then to combat the same ideology that resurfaced in Orlando.” The book begins with...
